What is your cancellation policy? All cancellations incur a minimum 25% cancellation fee. Cancellations received more than 7 days before travel incur a 25% cancellation fee or booking can be transferred to another day. Cancellations received within 7 days of travel incur a 50% cancellation fee or booking can be transferred to another day. Cancellations received the day before travel (within 24hrs of departure) incur the full cost of the reservation. Booking cannot be transferred to another day. If a tour is cancelled by us and we do not travel due to weather conditions, insufficient bookings or other reasons, your reservation can be transferred to another day or a refund given. If transport is curtailed due to weather or other circumstances changing during our journey and we are unable to reach the ski area due to these circumstances, no refund is available.
-
What happens if the mountain is closed on the day I booked?Around 6:00am each day Mt Hutt will update their ski report and advise if the mountain will be open or closed. The report is available here: https://www.mthutt.co.nz/weather-report/ If the mountain is closed, we will send an email to all bookings for that day to advise and we will offer to refund your ticket or you can transfer your it to another day. Just reply to the cancellation email to tell us what you want to do.
-
How far in advance do I need to book?We always recommend booking as far in advance as possible. We have limited capacity and tend to be fully booked on weekends and during school holidays. If you book early, we have time to find additional capacity. We can call on additional drivers and buses (but there is no guarantee they are available). If the ski area is closed on the day you book, we offer a refund or we can reschedule your booking (subject to availability). Our online booking system closes at 6:45am on the day of departure. So this is the latest time you will be able to make a booking, IF there is still space available.
-
Can I make a booking and pay cash on the day?No. All bookings must be made and paid for via our website.
-
Can I just turn up in the morning and get on the bus?You can try but we do not recommend it and prefer you don't. We bypass any stops we do not have bookings for. Our buses are frequently full and you will miss out.
-
Will my friend be on the same bus as me?Not always. We use multiple buses on our busy days and will divide our pick up points between the buses to keep the service on time. If you want to be on the same bus as your friends, please book together at the same pick up location. All passengers must be at the pick up location booked. The buses are allocated to stops based on number of passengers expected.
-
Can my child travel alone on the bus?Children aged 13 and below must travel with a parent or guardian. Children aged 14 and above may travel without a parent or guardian.
-
Can I leave my bag on the bus during the day?Any items you will not need during the day can be left on the bus. The bus will not be accessible until the end of the day. For anything you may need to access during the day, there are storage facilities available from Mt Hutt.
-
How do I book a one-way ticket? You will need to book a return ticket and forfeit half of your journey. To facilitate a one-way ticket we will need to keep your seat empty for the remainder of the journey. Please specify your plans in the "special requirements" section when making your booking. If you are not travelling back from the mountain at the end of the day - please remind the driver in the morning. Otherwise our journey will get delayed looking for you. If you are only travelling back from the mountain, please check in with the driver between 3:30pm and 3:45pm. The bus will be outside/near the ticket office. The bus will depart at 4pm sharp. Remember, there is no accommodation on the mountain so guests "staying overnight" will need transport to/from Methven.
-
Can I get picked up/dropped off at the Airport? We do not offer airport drop off/pick up. There are bus services to the airport from the Bus Interchange.
-
Can I organise lift passes and rental gear thru you?Sorry, all arrangements on the mountain need to be done directly with Mt Hutt. This makes it easier for you if you need to change products, obtain a refund etc. You will get the most up to date and accurate information from them. Please visit the Mt Hutt website for their product information: https://www.mthutt.co.nz/
