Four Wheel Drive Vehicles

Driving on mountain access roads in New Zealand is tough. Generally they are dirt roads with few safety barriers. Winter conditions make them icy and dangerous. For greater safety, we use 4 wheel drive vehicles

Monday and Thursday Service

We operate our Porters service from Methven on Monday's and Thursday's. On Monday Porters have a 2 for 1 lift pass deal and we reckon by Thursday you'll be ready for a break from the runs at Mt Hutt.

2 for 1 lift passes on Monday

On Monday's, Porters Ski Area offers 2 for 1 adult lift passes. That's right, two lift passes for the price of one. The advantage of shared transport is that you will always have someone to share this deal with.

This deal is available every Monday of the season except school holidays.

Door to Door Transport

Our service comes direct to your door. We cover all accommodation in Methven and tailor our pick ups to meet the demand on the day. Our small vehicle size means you'll spend less time getting driven around Methven than any other provider. .

No transfers between vehicles

We believe that 'door to door' service means that you are delivered from the door we pick you up from, to the door you are carried to. The vehicle that picks you up in the morning is the vehicle that takes you to the mountain. We don't stop part way to put you in a bigger bus or make you wait in a queue to get home again. The same vehicle takes you home again and your seat is guaranteed for the day.

Departs Methven 8.05am

Please be ready at 8.00am for an 8.05 departure.

With a door to door service there will be some variation in your pick up time but Methven is small enough that we usually have everyone within 10 minutes.

All departures must be pre-booked to ensure availablity.

Leaves Porters 4pm

We ask all our guests to be ready to leave at 4.00pm. This allows us to sneak off the mountain just ahead of the bigger buses that hold up traffic on the access road. This also gets you back to Methven around 5.00pm.

If weather conditions change during the day and the ski field closes early we leave as soon we get everyone one back to the vehicle. No queues, no waiting, your guaranteed seat is ready for you as soon as it is time to leave.

Connects with Christchurch Service

Our Christchurch service runs to Porters on a Daily basis. So, on Monday's and Thursday's you can transfer between these services and put together a mini-tour covering Porters and Mt Hutt ski areas.
